As the deadline loomed for ____ to send out notices of her sex-offender status, she had two choices.

She could stay at Covenant House with a roof over her head and a structured environment geared toward helping her turn her life around. But if she couldn’t find the $1,200 to pay for the notices, she could be sent to prison. Full Article

What’s “good for the goose, is good for the gander.”

Terrible situation that proves this is punishment. However, she has two advantages over us here in California(though we don’t bear the burden of paying to notify the public like they do). One, we don’t have that 21 day clock that resets every time she moves, and two, she gets the chance to get off the registry in 15 years.
